win2day opens first live casino studio in Vienna
The importance of online gambling in Austria is continuously growing – not least due to the ever-increasing demand for live casino games that bring the real casino experience directly into the living room. The Austrian Lotteries Company is now responding to this trend. Together with the international IT and gaming provider Pragmatic Play, it has opened its first online casino studio in Vienna. The new studio will serve as the hub for the live casino offering on the win2day platform.
The new studio in the Austrian capital spans approximately 400 square meters. Those responsible specifically designed it for the production and livestreaming of casino games such as roulette, blackjack, and various game shows. They equipped it with state-of-the-art technology – including multiple sets, cameras, live control stations, and a mobile-optimized streaming solution.
At the start, the operators created 80 new jobs. Game presenters, broadcast and video technicians, and team managers ensure smooth operations. In the coming years, the company plans to employ up to 150 people in the studio. The project will not only strengthen the economy but also create new career prospects—especially in a sector undergoing rapid digitalization.
Game Shows are part of the Live Casino
A special highlight of the new studio is the first German-language game show, "Crazy Prater Wheel," whose content is reminiscent of the well-known TV classic "Wheel of Fortune." Players have the opportunity to guess numbers and—with a little luck—win up to 500 times their stake. This means that win2day offers not only classic casino titles but also entertaining game shows with a local connection and high recognition value.
Erwin van Lambaart, Director General of Austrian Lotteries, described the opening of the studio as an important milestone for the company and for the Austrian gaming market as a whole. With the new live casino offering, the company aims to create an environment that is both entertaining and safe. The goal is to offer players a high-quality, responsible experience – regardless of whether they play on a PC, smartphone, or tablet.
Georg Wawer, Managing Director at win2day, also emphasized the innovative power of the project. Together with Pragmatic Play, they have created a studio that is not only modern and technologically advanced, but also meets the demands of the Austrian market. At the same time, they want to clearly differentiate themselves from illegal online offerings that have neither player protection measures nor appropriate government oversight.
To protect users, the new studio employs extensive security measures, including specially trained staff and AI-supported systems for the early detection of problematic gaming behavior. Tools such as the "Health Check" are designed to analyze gaming habits and, if necessary, take preventative action.
The new studio in Vienna demonstrates win2day's strategic development and its role as a pioneer in the Austrian market, not only technologically but also socially. Combining tradition, innovation, and responsibility creates an online casino offering that is consciously geared to the needs of modern users – with a true Viennese flair.
